Simon-Kucher, a global consultancy firm, has announced the appointment of Amit Kumar as Managing Director India. Based in the Mumbai office, Kumar will lead the firm's efforts in supporting clients within the Technology, Media, and Telecom sector.
Kumar brings over 20 years of extensive experience in pricing, go-to-market strategies, sales productivity optimization, and monetization. He has enabled technology sector companies across the US, Europe and Asia to achieve successful business model transformations, such as shifting from perpetual/license-based revenue models to SaaS/subscription models. Kumar has maximized shareholder value by rationalizing portfolio mix and has developed pricing strategies and business case models to support these transitions.

Before joining Simon-Kucher, Kumar was the Head of Business Consulting and Advisory Partnerships at Amazon Web Services (AWS) India. During his tenure at AWS, Kumar led strategic engagements with large enterprises, including spearheading significant GenAI initiatives across the Asia-Pacific region. His career also includes over a decade in Silicon Valley, where he provided expert guidance to Big Tech and high-growth technology companies on pricing, GTM strategy, and business model transformations.
Kumar holds an MBA from Duke University, USA and a Bachelor of Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. In addition to his extensive experience, Kumar contributes to the tech community by advising founders and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences.
