Simon-Kucher Announces New Leadership Changes Across its Global Healthcare and Life Sciences Division, Reinforcing Four decades of Industry Expertise

Simon-Kucher, a global consultancy with over 2,000 employees across 30+ countries, continues to strengthen its Healthcare & Life Sciences capabilities with the appointment of new leadership roles and six new Partners. Known for its excellence in unlocking measurable revenue and profitable growth, Simon-Kucher has been a leader in healthcare and life sciences consulting for four decades, serving pharmaceutical, biotech, medical technology, and consumer healthcare sectors.

New Leadership Roles:

  • Omar Ahmad and Christian Schuler will succeed Joerg Kruetten, who served as Global Head of Healthcare and Life Sciences before being appointed Co-CEO alongside Dr. Gunnar Clausen. Ahmad will serve as Managing Partner of the Healthcare and Life Sciences Division, while Schuler was appointed Managing Partner of the Global Health Sector.
  • Rob Dumitrescu has been appointed Practice Head for Pharma & Biotech.
  • Chuck Gammal will take on the role of Practice Head for Healthcare.

New Partner Appointments in Healthcare & Life Sciences

Madhurima Das is based in Simon-Kucher’s Boston office with more than eight years of life sciences consulting. She has spearheaded over 100 projects for pharma and biotech companies, focusing on pricing and access excellence, as well as commercial strategy. Her expertise covers global and US-specific strategic topics across a wide range of therapeutic areas for both existing and pipeline assets. Das holds a PhD in Biophysics from Boston University School of Medicine and an MS in Biochemistry from the University of Pune.

Mark Engelhardt is based in Simon-Kucher’s Berlin office and has more than nine years of experience in the healthcare industry. He specializes in the clinical diagnostics sector, advising in-vitro and imaging diagnostics companies on growth strategies, marketing, sales, and pricing excellence. Engelhardt holds an MSc in Industrial Engineering from the Technical University of Braunschweig and has research and study experience in China, Brazil, and Spain.

Niklas Fossum is based in Simon-Kucher’s Stockholm office and has nearly a decade of consulting experience. He specializes in commercial excellence, focusing on pricing, launch management, and growth strategy. Fossum also advises on revenue management systems, including CRM, CPQ, and CLM implementation. He has worked across medical technologies and healthcare B2B, leading projects from short-term assessments to long-term solution development. He holds an MSc in Corporate and Financial Management from Lund University.

Mithila Rajagopal is based in Simon-Kucher’s Boston office, where she helps pharmaceutical and biotech companies optimize product launches and portfolio strategies. She co-leads the firm’s Real-World Evidence Center of Excellence and specializes in pricing, market access, and launch readiness in therapeutic areas such as infectious diseases, oncology, and immunology. Rajagopal holds a PhD in Chemistry from Harvard University and a B.A. in Chemistry and Mathematics from Bryn Mawr College.  

Rachel Rowbottom is based in Simon-Kucher’s London office and has over 13 years of global strategy consulting experience. She specializes in optimizing evidence generation across the product lifecycle to drive pricing, market access, and commercial success. Co-leading the firm’s Real World Evidence Center of Excellence, she shapes strategies for companies to develop P&MA-optimal post-authorization evidence and impactfully communicate its value. Rowbottom leads complex global engagements spanning specialty care, rare diseases, gene and stem cell therapies and oncology. She holds a Master’s degree in Biochemistry from the University of Cambridge.

Joshua Siow is based in Simon-Kucher’s Singapore office, specializing in Pricing & Market Access and Commercial Excellence across the Asia-Pacific region. He leverages over nine years of experience to help Pharma and Biotech clients navigate complex healthcare systems, improving patient access while optimizing commercial outcomes. His areas of expertise include Equitable Access strategies in Low-to-Middle Income Markets and Gross-to-Net price excellence. Siow holds a First-Class B.Sc. in International Business from the University of Birmingham.
