David Jimenez Maireles is an expert in digital banking and FinTech. With 18 years of experience, David has launched and worked in different digital banks and FinTech in several countries worldwide, such as Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, Germany, United States, United Kingdom, Brazil and Spain. His career is marked by the launch and expansion of the first digital bank as TNEX in Vietnam or the savings platform Raisin in Spain. He has also worked in financial institutions such as Banco Santander and ING Direct in Europe, USA and Latin America.
Focused on financial inclusion and accessible banking, David has worked tirelessly to bring financial services to populations where access to traditional banking was difficult, expensive and complex. He has promoted different initiatives in Southeast Asia to help millions to access their first checking account, to pay digitally or to have access to investment products. Focused on making financial services more invisible.
Recognized on several occasions as one of the top influential people in FinTech worldwide, David is known for his strategic vision, industry knowledge as well as his ability to create innovative banking experiences. He was a pioneer in developing a banking application with a video game company in Vietnam or bringing best practices from other industries and companies such as AirBnB, Spotify, Duolingo, Candy Crush or Tinder. Always with the goal to offer a more simple, fun and gamified banking, but profitable.
David holds a Law Degree from the Complutense University of Madrid and a Master's Degree in Corporate Finance from CUNEF. He has been a professor of Digital Banking, FinTech, Innovation and Disruption at UNIR (Universidad Internacional de La Rioja), as well as guest speaker in IE (Instituto de Empresa), ESADE, as well as participating as a speaker at numerous events both in Europe, MENA and SEA.
