Christoph Stegmeier is a Senior Partner in Simon-Kucher’s global banking practice and is based in the Munich office.
He has over 20 years of experience in financial services, particularly in retail banking, insurance, and risk management. His recent work has focused on market entry strategies, digital transformation programs, and digital venture build, including the launch of several neobanks and fintechs. With his global mindset and experience developing digital strategies and launching and optimizing digital banks, he is recognized as a leading expert in this field. His geographical footprint spans both developed and emerging markets, with clients located throughout Europe, the US, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific.
He regularly authors industry thought papers, including recent reports on the global neobanking landscape and digital business models in SME banking. He has also led research studies on the growing buy-now-pay-later sector.
Prior to his consulting career, Christoph studied mathematics and economics and holds an MSc from Texas A&M University and a German Diploma in mathematics from Ulm University.
