Scott Sands is a Partner in Simon-Kucher’s Atlanta office. Scott specializes in helping organizations deploy sales, marketing and service resources to drive profitable growth. This includes building achievable business plans in complex global markets, segmenting customers for size/profitability/growth/buying criteria, developing optimal pricing & channel strategies, sizing/structuring the sales force, creating specialized roles to execute efficient processes, organizing demand generation programs, setting goals for territories with wide variations in potential, and designing compelling incentives to attract/focus/motivate/retain top talent.
Scott brings over 30 years of global experience, including leadership of Aon’s global Sales Force Effectiveness practice for over 11 years. He also has experience as an Operating Partner in private equity and tenures with other leading firms including The Alexander Group, Willis Towers Watson, and his own firm, Briggs & Sands. His cross-vertical experience includes all sectors of technology (software, hardware, semiconductors, service, etc.), life sciences (including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and medical/surgical supplies), manufacturing, distribution, CPG/retail, business services, and aerospace/defense.
Scott holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Vanderbilt University with dual majors in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics. He also earned an MBA with a focus in Marketing from The University of Texas at Austin.
As a Partner at Simon-Kucher, Scott leads the Sales Effectiveness practice. He sets strategic direction for the practice, conducts cutting-edge research, hires/coaches specialized consultants, coordinates with other practices, and provides growth advisory support for strategic client accounts.
